Reasons to Avoid Purpose


Here are some reasons to avoid your Purpose.  Some of them of them may even be true,
but none of them are honest.  Feel free to use them when avoiding your Purpose.

  1. I’m tired.
  2. I’m hungry.
  3. I’m bored.
  4. I’m afraid.
  5. I’d rather play an online game.
  6. I’d rather watch a movie.
  7. The house needs cleaning.
  8. I don’t have anything original to offer.
  9. I’m not making a difference.
  10. I’m not making any money
  11. I’ve been doing this for weeks/months/years with no noticeable signs of being profitable or successful.
  12. I don’t get the support I’d like from those closest to me.
  13. I’m being selfish.
  14. The odds are against me.
  15. There is too much competition.
  16. It takes too much time.
  17. It costs too much money.
  18. I don’t like getting up early.
  19. I don’t like staying up late.
  20. People say I’m less sociable than I used to be.
  21. People say I’ve changed, and not in a good way.
  22. People say I’m obsessed. 
  23. People say I have a one-track mind.
  24. People will be disappointed in me.
  25. People will criticize me.
  26. People will ignore me.
  27. It’s been done before.
  28. It’s never been done before.
  29. I don’t have enough education.
  30. I don’t have enough training.
  31. I don’t have enough time.
  32. I don’t have enough money.
  33. I’ve tried making changes before and I wasn’t successful.
  34. I’m not determined enough.
  35. I’m not talented enough.
  36. I have a job, so I don’t have the time.
  37. I don’t have a job, so I don’t have the time because I’m looking for one.
  38. I have too many other commitments.
  39. I’m married.
  40. I’m divorced.
  41. I have kids.
  42. I’m about to have a child.
  43. I’m trying to have a child.
  44. I’ve been stuck in the same place for years.
  45. I’m moving.
  46. I don’t have enough life experience.
  47. I don’t know where to begin.
  48. I need a mentor, but no one is willing or available.
  49. I don’t like uncertainty.
  50. I don’t like criticism.
  51. I’m being presumptuous.
  52. I might fail.
  53. I’m too young.
  54. I’m too old
  55. I know it’s important to Get Started and Keep Going every day, but that’s really hard.
