Things to Do When I Don't Feel Like Doing My Work

Things to do when I don’t feel like doing my work:
  1. Go to bed.
  2. Do some other work.
  3. Clean my place.
  4. Exercise.
  5. Do my work anyway.
  6. Think about how good I will feel after I finish my work.
  7. Do part of the work and save the rest for later.
  8. Remind myself that the feeling to do one’s work often comes after one begins, not before.
  9. Talk to someone who will inspire me.
  10. Read something that will inspire me.
  11. Break the work into parts.
  12. Set a deadline and then rush to meet it.
  13. Do my work anyway.
  14. Journal about my feelings regarding my reluctance to work.
  15. Pray.
  16. Put on some music to put you in the mood.
  17. Create a reward for myself when the work is done.
  18. Turn off the TV.
  19. Look at previous work to build on, repeat, or avoid.
  20. Work as if I were the best there is at what I do.
  21. Work as if my life depended on it.  Sometimes it does.
