A Short Prayer for a Long Day

“The more you go with the flow of life and surrender the outcome to God, and the less you seek constant clarity, the more you will find that fabulous things start to show up in your life.”

Dear God,
As you know I have a very long day ahead of me today.  Most of my days are long (which is better than having my time be short), but today seems exceptionally so.  So I’d like to ask for a few things before starting my day.
First, please remind me to be grateful and joyful, no matter what.
Please give me the ability to be grateful and joyful no matter what.
Make me a blessing, a light, an encouragement, a sign of hope, a pleasure to be around, a better person – or all of the above.
I pray that when others look at me they will see You.
Remind me that if I lose unpleasant memories of the past I am not losing myself.
Thank you for my Muse.  She is one of the greatest gifts You have ever given me.
Thank you for my health.
Thank you for the privilege of serving You on these pages.
Thank  you for every single good thing You have given me.
Remind me to breathe.
Remind me to smile.
Remind me to eat.
Remind me to drink water.
Give me compassion.
Give me grace for those who are hurtful.
Give others grace for me if I am hurtful.
Give me time to read.
Give me creativity as I serve others.
Help me to be calm.
Help me to get caught up.
Help me to let go when I can’t get caught up.
Help me to laugh a lot, especially at myself.
Help me to not rush into anything except to help others.
Help me to use my time well.
Help me to remember the Serenity Prayer.
Help me to have fun today.
Help me to Get Started and to Keep Going.
Amen.
