33 Reasons I'm Feeling Great

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
John F. Kennedy

The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.

Friedrich Nietzsche

The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

Henry Miller

Today was a good day, even if I didn’t accomplish everything on my list.  Why was it a good day?
1.     I’m healthy.
2.     I have a place to sleep.
3.     In my place, I have a vase of beautiful lilies.
4.     I have people who love me.
5.     I have food in my refrigerator.
6.     I have a job.
7.     I have my freedom.
8.     I can read.
9.     I can choose my attitude.
10.  Every day I can move a little closer to my goals.
11.  Every day I have something new to smile about, usually many things.
12.  I have many good memories of the past and the bad memories are only that: memories.
13.  I have many good things to look forward to.
14.  All my organic functions are working perfectly, including my vision, hearing, movement, speech and, most of all, my brain.
15.  I live in relative safety, generally with far more safety than many places in the world.
16.  I have a lot of possessions that I don’t need, but generally make my life a little nicer.
17.  I’ve been able to help people this week.
18.  My car works.
19.  I have the means to buy food.
20.  I generally sleep well.
21.  I have a lot of good books to read.
22.  I’m not in a hospital or prison.
23.  I live in an amazing country.
24.  If I were in an emergency I know there would be people to help me and/or pray for me almost immediately.
25.  I have technology that makes my life easier.  I’m thinking of the toilet, the stove and the refrigerator at the moment.
26.  I have other non-essential technology that makes my life extra nice, such as a computer and a cell-phone.
27.  God loves me and has truly blessed me.
28.  Most of what I just wrote applies to my children as well, so I don’t have to worry about them.
29.  Most of the things I just wrote apply to most of the people reading this.
30.  If there are things in my life that aren’t going well, (though for the life of me, none of them seem that significant now) I can probably change them.
31.  I can Get Started.
32.  I can Keep Going.
33.  Tomorrow I will probably be able to say all the same things.
